CONVICT LOVE TOKEN
Love token produced by a young man, William Bailey, for his parents at the time of his sentencing to transportation. The token was made from a cartwheel penny and inscribed:
Obverse: “Mother and Father. When this you see think of me till I get my liberty. Wm Bailey July 3 1822” (His date of birth).
Reverse: Ornate floral engravings.
