Early Supe Club

Origin: 1920-1940 (pre-WWII) San Cristobal, Solomon Islands

Dimensions: 28×6.5 in.

Condition: Wood shows slight scratches at the tip of the blade, inlay is intact, and dye is solid throughout the blade with some slightly lighter spots on the base of the blade.

Additional Information: Early Solomon Islands Supe club is carved and inlaid wood, that is covered in a black dye. It features a stylized human-like face at the handle, with geometric patterns on the long blade-like body. It is finished with pearl shell inlay that makes up the head dress and the details of the face at the handle of the club.
