In this satirical cartoon of 1834, John Bull is depicted pushing out to sea a row boat containing ten politicians. The flat at the bow reads ‘FOR BOTANY BAY’. The two oarsmen (a grinning Jack Tar, and another sailor puffing on a pipe) guide the boat towards a ship from which is returning another boat, containing two oarsmen and the six Tolpuddle Martyrs, five of whom are standing and raising their hats while cheering ‘Huzza! Huzza!! Huzza!!!. One Cheer more. Huzza!!!
